In order to volunteer in any Broward County Public School you will first need to complete a Volunteer Application Form.  Activities such as field trips, working in the classrooms, and tutoring are examples of activities that require volunteer clearance.
Some important info:

  • You will need a valid driver's license, official state ID, or US passport to complete the application
  • You will be be required to authorize Broward County Public Schools to conduct a background check

Approval of your application can take 3-5 days.  If you do not receive an email confirming your volunteer clearance you may call or stop by the school office to check your status.  Once your application has been accepted the office staff will print you a volunteer badge to use during the 2016-2017 school year. 

Whether or not you plan on volunteering, it is suggested that you fill out the online application and get your volunteer badge at school. You won't be able to help during a class party or to go on a field trip if you are not approved in the system.
Don't wait until the last minute!
